Cookie Policy
Effective date: 8 October 2026
A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store and then send back on later visits, which is how a site recognises a browser over time. Similar technologies do the same job by other means: browser storage areas that keep data on your device, tiny images loaded from another server to register that a page was opened, and scripts that read characteristics of your browser to tell it apart from others.
What we checked
- Cookies set by this site
- Not used. Quiet Stance sets no cookies of its own, of any kind, including functional ones.
- Cookies set by others through this site
- Not used. No third party can set a cookie through these pages, because no page loads anything from another server.
- localStorage
- Not used. Nothing is written to this storage area, which is why the checklists do not remember ticks.
- sessionStorage
- Not used. Nothing is kept for the duration of your visit either.
- IndexedDB
- Not used. No database is created in your browser.
- Tracking pixels
- Not used. There is no invisible image, beacon or counter on any page.
- Browser fingerprinting
- Not used. Nothing reads your fonts, screen, plugins or device characteristics to identify your browser.
- Web fonts and third-party scripts
- Not used. Text is set in fonts already present on your device, and the only script is a short first-party file that opens the small-screen menu and runs the print button.
- Server access logs
- Used. This is the one entry on the list that applies, and it is described below.
What does happen
When your browser asks for a page, the request reaches a web server, and that server keeps an ordinary log of it: the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page if your browser sent one, and the user-agent string. The log is kept by our hosting provider, which may store data outside Australia, for 30 days, and is used to keep the site running securely and to diagnose faults. Nothing else happens. The Privacy Policy covers this in full.
Why there is no banner
Consent banners exist so that you can agree to, or refuse, things being placed on your device. Nothing is placed on your device by this site, so there is nothing for you to agree to. Showing a banner here would ask you to consent to something that is not happening, which would be untrue and would train you to click through notices that do matter elsewhere.
The checklists do not remember anything
The boxes beside the checklist items are printed squares drawn with CSS. They are not controls and they hold no state. Reloading the page or returning tomorrow produces exactly the same page, because no localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, fingerprinting or pixel is involved in showing it to you. If you want to keep a record of what you have done, print the checklists page and tick it with a pen.
After you follow an affiliate link
This site carries paid affiliate links, explained on the Affiliate Disclosure page. Clicking one takes you away from quietstance.online. Once you have left, the Star Stable Online website and the affiliate network that operates the link may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains, typically to record that the referral came from here. That is outside our control and is governed by their notices, not by this one. If it matters to you, read those notices before you follow the link, or do not follow it — the course works without it.
Blocking or clearing cookies in general
Although this site gives you nothing to clear, every major browser lets you manage cookies for sites that do set them. The controls live in the browser's settings, usually under a heading such as privacy, security, or site data, and they generally let you block all cookies, block only those set by third parties, clear everything stored for a particular site, or clear everything when you close the browser. Blocking all cookies will break sites that rely on them to keep you logged in. Your browser's own help pages are the current guide, since the menus change with each version.
If this ever changes
If cookies or any similar technology are ever introduced to this site, this page will be rewritten first to say exactly what they are and what they do, and a working consent mechanism will be in place before any cookie is set. No cookie will be set in advance of that, and no banner will claim consent for something already done.
